The Senior Manager, Product Marketing, Subscription manages the retention strategy for the ink and toner subscription business, a key strategic priority for Brother. As the team's subscription expert, this role collects consumer insights and data to identify new opportunities, strengthen engagement, and minimize churn.

Description

Program Management - Retention (Subscription)

  • Manage retention strategy and execution for the subscription business including ownership of the product life-cycle post-sign-up, ensuring strong engagement and high consumer satisfaction
  • Ensure all consumer touchpoints are in-line with business and product strategy
  • Act as the subscription subject matter expert, staying on top of industry best practices and ensuring expertise across the broader team
  • Recommend focus and direction regarding the product marketing strategy for the subscription business, leveraging expertise to find unique solutions
  • Act as an advocate for the best Customer Experience that will encourage fast consumer adoption of Brother Genuine ink and toner

Analytics & Insights

  • Set and monitor KPIs on for key metrics including churn, attach, MRR/ARR, etc., identifying risks and opportunities and then making recommendations for program improvements
  • Initiate deep data analysis and data mining together with Business Analysts to position Brother for future growth
  • Assess and optimize subscription pricing plans


Continuous Improvement (PDCA)

  • Develop and execute consumer engagement efforts to ensure continuous improvement of the consumer experience, ensuring voice of customer is being reflected in program strategy
  • Identify and implement cross-sell and up-sell customers within the customer journey
  • Analyze and understand customer needs, identify gaps in the program set up and execution, pinpoint improvement opportunities, and execute program optimization


Cross Functional/HQ Coordination

  • Coordinate with eCommerce (including Brother.com) to ensure optimal communication and consumer experience
  • Engage a cross-functional team in marketing, customer service, and IT to deliver an exceptional customer experience
  • Build collaborative working relationship with Japanese counterparts requiring some early morning or evening conference calls

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree Marketing, Business, Strategy, or similar field - Required
  • Master's Degree Marketing, Business, MBA, or similar field - Preferred
  • Minimum 8 years A combination of the following:
  • Experience driving a subscription business with a strong understanding of retention/acquisition strategies, key subscription metrics and best practices
  • Experience synthesizing large amounts of qualitative and quantitative data to create strategic recommendations
  • Experience managing projects involving continuous improvements around product or processes
  • Experience managing a product lifecycle and taking a product/service to market
  • Minimum 1 year Experience working in matrix organization
  • Minimum 1 year Experience in product marketing, business development, or other related fields
  • Minimum 1 year Experience working with E-Commerce
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Knowledge of marketing research and syndicated data (NPD, IRI, Nielsen)
  • Expert knowledge on the product/service subscription business model
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to leverage data to make strategic recommendations
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle, specifically with taking a product/service to market
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Ability to present at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to collaborate and build strong relationships across the organization and externally
