Reporting to the Quality Director, the Product Assurance Engineer supports a wide portfolio of products, assuring compliance to appropriate standards, regulations and procedures. The Product Assurance Engineer demonstrates product quality ownership and drives product excellence throughout realization.

This position will work closely with Operations and Engineering to identify and resolve production and quality system issues and to drive continuous improvement in compliance and product quality. The incumbent for this role will need to adapt to competing priorities, be able to operate both independently and within a team environment, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

You Will Have the Opportunity to:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for quality and customer issues related to manufacturing processes
  • Lead efforts to identify and execute initiatives to improve manufacturing process and product quality
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and design engineers in the development of effective Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
  • Support process, equipment and product validation. Support internal and external audits and inspections by acting as subject matter expert for manufacturing quality.
  • Support improvement activities on the assigned manufacturing lines, including the implementation of material changes, product design changes, manufacturing process changes, and other activities.
  • Actively drive the internal teams to determine root cause, corrective and preventive actions for critical product issues

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field
  • Minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environment with a focus in continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of ISO9001, AS9001 quality standards
  • Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Understanding of optical filters (fabrication, coatings or assemblies) preferred

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
