Job Description Summary

Perform sample collection; identify quality status of ingredients and finished products through testing procedures. Maintain libraries of records and samples.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sample and tag incoming ingredients prior to testing for compliance to specifications.

• Collect samples of mixed batter for analysis and retention. Deliver collected samples to Q.A. Lab for analysis and cataloging. Perform metal detector checks on an assigned frequency.

• Perform quality checks on finished product and incoming ingredients.

• Stores, retrieves and disposes of retained samples as required.

• Sift samples from silo and packaging sifter tailing vessels on an assigned frequency.

• Follows cleaning procedures of assigned work area.

• Comply with all safety regulations and follows safe methods in chemical usages.

• Reports all accidents/injuries and unsafe conditions to shift superintendent.

• Maintains records as required.

• Accomplish other related work as required.

• Complies with all plant safety regulations and follows Good Manufacturing practices.

• Maintain any required logs or paperwork in an accurate, timely fashion.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or equivalent; or up to three months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate in English commensurate with the requirements of this position.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

SAFETY:

Must have a complete knowledge and understanding of the plant safety rules. Must adhere to Personal Protective Equipment guidelines as stated in the Employee Handbook. Must have good personal hygiene and be able to practice safe work habits.

The noise level in the work environments is usually moderate.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's work location, job duties, experience and expertise. A reasonable hourly estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $22.06
