Dow Engineering Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Designer/Developer. The preferred location for this role is Freeport, TX, Midland, MI or Terneuzen, NL (other Dow sites will be considered). This role will provide technical expertise to assist in requirements gathering, technical proposals, design and development of complex MES solutions. You will act as the technical lead within your area of assigned responsibility, as well as be an individual contributor on these engagements, contributing to technology selection, software architecture design, development of software applications, and integration into enterprise systems.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Proactively engage with stakeholders in order to define MES solutions

• Perform high level functional activities, such as requirements gathering and gap analysis of user requirements

• Participate in the design specifications, configuration, testing, implementation and startup of manufacturing execution systems (MES) solutions

• Identifying and deploying Most Effective Technology (MET) solution components to meet project's requirements.

• Execution of projects following the Dow project work processes (Global Project Methodology, Process Automation Work Process Discipline, and Project Delivery Methodology (PDM)).

• Lead training to ensure plant operators are trained on MES systems prior to startup.

• Participate in Pre-startup review and complete pre-startup activities

• Supports future process improvements and product development

• Excellent people skills and demonstrated ability to work on a team

Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in process automation and/or manufacturing execution systems

• Experience in implementing the principles of ISA-95 in a manufacturing facility, understanding information and data flow between the enterprise applications and plant floor applications.

• Working experience with Aspentech IP.21 product suite

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies

• Previous experience working with SAP

• Knowledge of Aspen Tech Query Language - SQLPlus and .NET technologies

• Experience implementing production order management solutions
