Summary – Pricing Specialist

The Pricing Specialist is primarily responsible for the administration and analysis of Benjamin Moore pricing programs. This includes working cross functionally across the organization to ensure all pricing programs are maintained in the system. Proposal set-up, pricing maintenance, monthly reporting, along with program tracking are all part of the responsibilities of the Pricing Specialist. The scope of pricing programs includes: product pricing, customer discounts, promotional discounts, rebates, billbacks, job quote discounts, and price catalog maintenance. The Pricing Specialist is a primary point of contact for all inquiries made to the pricing organization. This involves tracking inquiries, identifying inquiry trends, and ensuring all customers are responded to in a timely manner.

Reporting Structure

The Pricing Specialist will report to the Pricing Operations Lead as part of the Pricing Team. Strong performers will have a high level of independence. There are no direct reports reporting into this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with administration of pricing programs including developing pricing policies and overseeing system pricing maintenance (rebates, deals, job quote pricing, customer price lists, and new product pricing).
  • Prepare and maintain accurate product price catalogs on intranet and retailer website
  • Address pricing inquires, research questions and respond with appropriate follow up.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve pricing related billing issues by applying one’s knowledge of pricing policies, procedures, and internal processes.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting. Perform ad-hoc analysis for special projects as needed.
  • Prepare, distribute, and analyze revenue and margin reports detailing impact of existing and proposed pricing programs.
  • Assist in preparation of training materials as needed to assist Customer Information Center and outside sales reps with general understanding of pricing programs.


Qualifications of the ideal candidate:
  • B.A. or B.S in accounting, finance, or economics. Other backgrounds will be acceptable if accompanied by strong analytical and business background.
  • Advanced skills in Excel
  • Experience using BEX (or other data mining tools) and data visualization tools (Qlik, Tableau).
  • SAP/Vistex experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled at multi-tasking in a dynamic team environment.
  • Team player with strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to master and oversee complex tasks with minimal supervision.
