Valid currently has a great opportunity for a 3rd shift Pressroom Production Lead in our Bolingbrook manufacturing plant.

What will you do?

  • Manage the operation of the pressroom to quickly, efficiently and economically process jobs through the pressroom.
  • Schedule the Pressroom's workflow to achieve the manufacturing goals of the company and manage the staff to meet schedule requirements.
  • Evaluate the staff's skill levels, provide and schedule learning opportunities to elevate to the highest potential.
  • Ensure staff members have all necessary materials to do their jobs before job goes on press; if not, locate missing items.
  • Monitor maintenance of equipment in the Pressroom; coordinate maintenance as needed.
  • Ensure employees are following safety and quality procedures.
  • Monitor performance of team members and provide coaching/disciplinary counseling as needed.
  • Complete weekly and monthly reports related to operation and productivity of the pressroom.
  • Perform related job duties as needed.
What are we looking for?
  • High School diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Pressroom Supervisor or 3 years as a Lead Press Operator
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office - must be able to complete Excel spreadsheets, build graphs and work with existing spreadsheets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - must be able to communicate Gemba board information to team members
  • Analytical skills - ability to learn and utilize QRCI (Quick Response for Continuous Improvement) problem solving tool, to find root cause issues, implement containment actions and implement corrective actions.
  • Team player with positive attitude, who can describe problems and offer solutions.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Associate's degree
  • Continuing education in Graphic Arts
  • Previous supervisory and team leadership experience
  • Lean manufacturing experience, including leading Kaizen and SMED events
