Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Tech

Job Summary: Under the direction of the customer department supervisor, the maintenance tech will perform a variety of semiskilled trades for the maintenance support of the Continental Morganton plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: --

    • Provides quality work, while meeting timelines and project completion dates.
    • Paint, remodel, refurbish areas as needed.
    • Repair, maintain/monitor all equipment and amenities
    • Clean windows and glass door
    • Change of all filters for HVAC as required
    • Prepare classrooms for incoming classes; remove or rearrange furniture for events or classes, as needed
    • Remove and properly dispose of all recyclable materials
    • Change light bulbs, interior and exterior, as needed
    • Make ready all classrooms, studios, dorm as needed
    • On call maintenance for all facilities
    • Oversee service that provides trash removal and cleaning of dorms at end of school year
    • Maintain exterior property, including snow removal
    • Assist with all show installs/removals
    • Oversee daily trash removal, restocking/cleaning restrooms,
      sweeping/mopping/vacuuming, cleaning/disinfecting tables and counters, cleaning exterior entryway/cigarette receptacles, graffiti removal,
      cleaning/polishing/floor maintenance for elevators, cleaning/disinfecting community surfaces (hand rails, water fountains, vending machines, etc.)
    • Performs other work related duties as assigned
    • Must be able to work flexible hours
    • Be motivated and work safely and productively
    • Understand LOTO procedures
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
    • May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds
    • Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above
    • Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas
    • Must have full range of motion consistent with age
    • Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders
    • Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms, and other job-related noises
    • Interpersonal Skills: (e.g. oral, verbal & written communication language skills, reasoning skills)
    Education and Work Experience Requirements
    • High school education or equivalent
    • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
    • Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills; customer service oriented
    • Must be organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task
