Position Description :

The Ingram School of Engineering invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar position in Solid Mechanics. The prospective Postdoc will conduct various experiments, analysis the data, and write journal papers and proposals.
The tasks of the selected candidate are:· Conducting various mechanical experiments· Data analysis and fit models to data· Prepare manuscripts for publication of research results· Support in the preparation of grant proposals and reports· Work with graduate and undergraduate researchers on research projects

All positions are subject to the availability of funds.

Required Qualifications:

- Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, material science, or a closely related field- Programming skills with MATLAB and/or Python- Knowledge of Data Analysis and Machine Learning Models- Hands on experience with mechanical testing machines- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Experience in leading the preparation of scientific publications

Preferred Qualifications:

- Prior research experience in the application of Artificial Intelligence/Machine learning in Engineering- Familiarity with different additive manufacturing techniques- Experience in finite element modeling
