As a member of the Mechanical Assembly Technologies team your role is to add expertise to the team in the areas of plastic injection molding and additive manufacturing. Your focus is to scout, develop and deploy new technologies in support of higher performance within our manufacturing and molding operations and to support major capital projects, especially new mold purchases and validations. Products of focus are membrane-based filtration devices and single use assemblies produced across our global network with key locations in Danvers, MA, Jaffrey, NH, Molsheim, FR and Cork IRE. Primary Job duties include but not limited to:Working with our partners in the manufacturing sites, act as lead Plastics engineer on new mold projects with key responsibilities for specifying user requirements, interfacing with vendors on mold design, validating molding process using scientific molding methods and troubleshooting issues with new molds.Working with partners in the manufacturing sites, assist with molding tool inventory and evaluations on an annual basis.Act as lead SME for introduction of additive manufacturing methods, where appropriate, in our new or existing products. Conduct technology scouting, evaluations and trials as needed.Working with site leaders, prepare business case documents for top improvement opportunities and build consensus among decision makers for project initiation and funding.Present project business cases to Capex Funding CommitteesDeploy new plastics processing technologies on "first-use" projects.Track project progress and spending, as needed, and prepare project updates Share ideas, research and completed projects with colleagues doing similar work across the community of practice.Travel 5%Location (onsite) work in one of our centers of excellence in Danvers, MA, or Jaffrey, NH

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Plastics engineering, Mechanical Engineering Chemical Engineering or similar technical discipline 7+ years of plastics engineering experience with specific experience in injection molding.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience managing new mold projects from URS to validation.Experience with scientific molding methods as they pertain to mold validation a plusAbility to identify and resolve material, mold design, product design, molding machine, and process issues.Project management capabilities including user requirements creation, project status and budget tracking, vendor and stakeholder management.Collaborative team player with ability to communicate ideas effectively with good listening skills.Candidate must be able to work from one of our centers of excellence in Danvers, MA, or Jaffrey, NH Candidates with experience in additive manufacturing in a production setting will be preferentially considered3D Printing experience Passion for technology exploration and development with proven track record of success in practical applications."Future thinker" with ability to see larger business perspectives and ability to develop strategies to deploy technology in a pragmatic way.
