We are currently seeking a Pharmacist Coordinator A to join our pharmacy team within the Weinberg Oncology Pharmacy (inpatient and ambulatory oncology infusion) as part of the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. This position will rotate through every 4th weekend coverage.
The Pharmacist Coordinator A will be responsible for providing distributive pharmacy services and centralized clinical review in the inpatient and ambulatory oncology infusion settings. The pharmacist monitors and supervises pharmacy technician daily activities, and makes necessary arrangements to keep workflow organized and efficient. Promotes the safe and effective use of medications by working collaboratively with other health care professionals.
The Weinberg Oncology Pharmacy services 155 beds across seven clinical service lines on nine acute care units, including medical oncology and surgical oncology. The pharmacy also services approximately 160 patients each day at the ambulatory oncology infusion centers located at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Green Spring Station. Responsibilities will include verifying and dispensing orders, assisting with operational questions and clinical issues related to patients receiving chemotherapy, participating in antimicrobial stewardship activities, and more.
The pharmacist will serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students and residents of ASHP accredited PGY-1 pharmacy practice and PGY-2 specialty practice programs.
