Per Diem Position Title: Recovery Advocate - Women's Stabilization Services

(7am-3pm) (3pm-11pm) (11pm-7am) Hiring for all shifts 7 days a week

Job Summary:

The Recovery Advocate reports to the DirectCare Supervisor. Serving as amember of the program's multidisciplinary team, the Recovery Advocate works tomaintain a safe, welcoming, and supportive milieu that is conducive to thepatients' treatment and recovery. The Recovery Advocate adhere to harmreduction and trauma responsive principles by partnering with patients tofacilitate their stabilization and care.

This is a non-exempt position.

Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A

Essential Functions of Position:

•Workswith the multidisciplinary team to support the processes for patients'admission, transfer, discharge, ongoing observation and care, while ensuringrespect and dignity.

•Assistsin providing non-professional nursing or other supportive care under thedirection and supervision of professional nurses/counselors.

•Ensuresongoing observation of patients and related reporting of their physicalcondition, attitude, reactions, and behaviors.

•Responsiblefor the movement of patients to/from daily scheduled activities.

•Ensuresthe cleanliness of the unit and participates in ongoing general unit cleaningduties.

•Facilitatesand promotes patient's participation in wellness and recreational activities.

•Maintainsorderly log entries as assigned relative to room checks, patient belongings,supplies etc.

•Drivespatients to appointments or discharge destination in the absence of the driver.

•Adheresto federal and state policies (42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA) and ensures appropriatereleases are obtained to exchange and disclosure necessary client information.

•Maintainsproper care and use of program supplies and equipment.

•Participatesin staff/supervision meetings and attend related professional developmentsessions/trainings.

•Performsother duties as assigned.

Requirementsfor the position:

• High school diploma. Previous experiencein substance use disorder and/or mental health settings.

• Knowledge of the substance use treatmentcontinuum and services and related community resources preferred.

• Knowledge of harm reduction and traumaresponsive care preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to work withindividuals with substance use disorders.

•ValidMassachusetts driver's license and good driving record

•A COVID-19vaccination is a requirement of the position.One COVID-19 shot is acceptable, contingent on the individual receivingthe second shot within the allotted time frame.

•Abilityto understand and follow the regulations pertaining to confidentiality ofclient records and treatment.

•Abilityto exercise sound judgment, remain calm under pressure and establish firmboundaries in order to effectively address client concerns and/or respond toemergencies as they arise.

•Abilityto apply aseptic technique in patient care.

•Abilityto adapt and successfully function within a fast-paced service environment withcompeting demands.

•Demonstratedorganizational skills.

•Strongsocial, verbal and written communication skills.

•Demonstratedproficiency with utilizing computers and related software (i.e. MicrosoftOffice, Google etc.).

Physical Requirements

The employee may regularly berequired to sit, stand, use hands, talk, hear, reach with arms, walk, climb,balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or run.The employee may regularly be required to move, by pushing, pulling orlifting up to 25 pounds.
