Payroll Manager
*LOCAL ONLY*
Purpose: Support nationwide managers and employees regarding union and payroll issues under the guidance of the Assistant VP of Human Resources. Oversee payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate pay processing in compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities:
Oversee Payroll Department operations and process multiple payrolls.
Ensure compliance with tax, wage, and hour laws.
Supervise payroll staff, manage workloads, and handle staff evaluations and discipline.
Ensure accurate payroll accounting and reporting.
Reconcile and complete tax reporting.
Process payroll transactions and maintain employee records.
Recommend updates to payroll software and systems.
Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting / human resource management or related field.
Eight years of payroll processing experience, with five years in a supervisory role preferred.
Experience in a union environment in a multi-state company.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS, payroll and benefits databases.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Paylocity or a related payroll system.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage several complex projects simultaneously.
