Job Description

Position Summary
The Paulson Post-baccalaureate Fellow supports the Paulson Ecology of Place Initiative mission to connect students to their natural environment and sense of place. The Paulson Post-bac Fellow works with the Director to facilitate using the campus as a living laboratory across disciplines, creating programs and activities that provide a sense of place across the Wellesley community, supporting activities that promote climate-resilient and sustainable landscapes, and advancing inclusive excellence in our work. This is a one-year term appointment with the possibility of extension for a second year.

Primary Position Responsibilities

  • Support and facilitate the development of learning opportunities, including assisting courses, research, and projects in collaboration with faculty, staff, students, alumnae, and practitioners across disciplines
  • Manage and support summer and academic year interdisciplinary student research, work-study, and internship programs and act as a near-peer mentor for students
  • Develop, organize, and support events and stakeholder meetings in collaboration with and in support of organizations, departments, offices, and programs across campus.
  • Create, design, and share inclusive communication/interpretive materials that provide a sense of belonging across our diverse community

Education
  • B.S. or B.A. in any discipline

Experience
  • 1-2 year experience (includes courses, internships, research and work-study positions) in an outdoor research, teaching, or learning setting

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to manage projects and work toward short- and long-term goals and toward the larger mission of the Paulson Ecology of Place Initiative and the College
  • Ability and interest in collaborating effectively across a diverse group of faculty, staff, students and work with outside practitioners
  • Familiarity with basic information management and communication and interest in learning more
  • Interest and/or experience in developing inclusive teaching, learning, and research mentoring skills
  • Passion for connecting people to their natural environment
