Description:
GENERAL PATIENT CARE - Provides one to one, constant and direct
observation of patients with suicidal ideation. Provides constant and
direct observation of patients who are at risk of causing harm to self
and/or others. Assists assigned staff (RNs and/or PCTs) to meet the
comfort and hygiene needs of the patient by providing assistance with
care services such as toileting activities, ambulation, position changes,
hair care, and feeding. Maintains direct patient observation during all
patient activities, including but not limited to toileting and
transportation

Takes vital signs as needed, while maintaining direct patient observation. Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Assists with ambulating patients and with transfer/transport procedures as appropriate.
Performs required documentation and communicates in a competent and effective manner to meet patient and/or family needs and regulatory requirements. Maintains strict confidentiality of patient, employee and department information to ensure patient rights
