About the Job

Patient Care Coordinators are responsible for providing exceptional service by welcoming our patients and ensuring all check-in and checkout processes are completed.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Acknowledge and greets patients, customer, and vendors as they walk into the practice, in a friendly and welcoming manner
  • Answers and responds to telephone inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Schedules appointments
  • Gathers patients and insurance information
  • Verifies and enters patient demographics into EMR ensuring all fields are complete
  • Verifies vision and medical insurance information and enters into EMR
  • Maintains a clear understanding of insurance plans and is able to communicate insurance information to the patients
  • Pulls schedules to ensure insurance eligibility prior to patient appointment and ensures files are complete
  • Prepare insurance claims and run reports to ensure all charges are billed and filed
  • Print and prepare forms for patients visit
  • Collects and documents all charges, co-pays and payments into EMR
  • Allocates balances to insurance as needed
  • Maintains a clean workspace at all times
  • Practices economy in the use of _me, equipment and supplies
  • Performs other duties as needed and as assigned by manager

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Must be able to maintain patient and practice confidentiality
