Primary responsibility of the Particle Technology Lead is generating innovative particles in order to create high value-added formulated products for cutting edge CMP segment of microelectronics advanced device manufacturing. Through a combination of external collaborations and internal development, a range of technologies will be used to provide custom abrasives for our polishing slurry development activities.
You will interface with the product development teams to understand the key requirements for new particles. As part of those teams, you will design and execute research activities focused on the manufacture, processing and characterizing of particles tailored to specific application needs. A key output of this research is an understanding of how process parameters and/or key particle characteristics impact polish performance.In this role, you will be critical in the development of new products for customers, applications teams support for product qualifications at customers, and as a technical resource to resolve issues with existing customers. A specific particle development lab will also be dedicated towards this effort. Additionally, you will also be a resource to the entire Planarization R&D group for other aspects of CMP technology development.
The role will require product innovation leadership, in addition to working together with a larger group for knowledge building research. You will need to have very strong technical knowledge, strongcollaboration / team-work skills, be self-motivated, have good communication skills, be a creative problem solver, and possess strong observation and perception skills. You may need to perform some work in lab and clean room environment, as well as to coordinate closely with an integrated team of scientists, commercial/product managers, engineers, and operations people in order to ensure successful commercialization of value-added new products. Preferred candidates will have demonstrated track record of innovative particle development for CMP slurries or similar formulated product chemistries for the microelectronics market.
