The Role

Lumen Internships give the business an opportunity to train innovative college students pursuing specific disciplines in specific areas beneficial to Lumen. The student, in turn, has the opportunity to gain real-world experience and decide if Lumen is a good fit for them as they look for employment opportunities in line with their newly acquired degree. This internship is year-round. Candidates should be able to work 10-15 hours a week during the school year and fulltime during the summer months.

The Main Responsibilities

Essential Duties - Network Planning
•   Assists in all aspects of simple network equipment installation and decommissioning specifications
•   Ensuring data integrity of inventory systems reflect actual installed equipment
•   Maintaining Web Site
•   Able to learn Ethernet, SONET, and DWDM technologies
•   Minor Project Management skills
•   Developing reporting and automation using SQL and Python.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Must have a professional, outgoing, customer-service oriented manner Ability to interact with a variety of people, and professional in stressful situations Must be able to work independently and productively with minimum supervision; able to manage multiple projects.

Basic Qualifications
•   Actively enrolled in a accredited college program of Engineering, Math, or Computer Science
•   GPA of 3.0 or higher.
•   Available to work at least 10 hours per week during the Fall and Spring semesters.
•   Available to work 40 hours during the Summer

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
