Ensures that System policies and practices surrounding Student Services functions are implemented and carried out correctly by others. Provides academic advising to students as well as operational support within the department. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Advises students on appropriate course selection and counsels students on appropriate semester course load and workloadAssists students in determining course transferability to state, public, and private institutionsDetermines proper course of action for student`s conflicts on course scheduling, degree plans and transfer equivalencyProvides basic financial aid information for new, transfer and returning studentsListens to student concerns and determines if they need referral to other departmentsResponsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Proficiency in use of standard office equipment and software applicationsStrong attention to detailExcellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Ability to ensure compliance with due dates/deadlines and regulatory requirementsAbility to transfer knowledge to peers, subordinates and higher authoritiesAbility to work on multiple projects PHYSICAL ABILITIES:The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS: Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipmentInterface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the positionWork is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Associate's degree Previous experience working in Admissions, Advising, or Financial Aid at a collegeSalary

Hourly Pay Rate is $14.55.
