Job Summary

This position is open only to current fulltime MTSA - Exempt employees.

Provide on-call coverage to respond to crisis situations, emergencies and other needs as they arise according to a schedule determined by supervisors. Promptly respond to phone calls, emails, and other forms of contact.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with campus police and other departments in the administration of the student conduct model for Residence Life.
  • Assist the director and department staff in the administration of resident requests and processes such as: housing policy violations; roommate conflicts; room change requests and housing reassignments; resident check-ins and check-outs; maintenance issues and safety/security concerns, etc.
  • Provide on-call coverage to respond to crisis situations, emergencies and other needs as they arise according to a schedule determined by supervisors. Promptly respond to phone calls, emails and other forms of contacts. Provide supervision and mentoring to the RSL team.
  • Maintain activity log, document incidents using Maxient and eRezLife.
  • Collaborate with Campus Police and Facilities to troubleshoot issues within Residence Life.
  • Oversee the supervision of Resident Assistants and student staff during nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • May perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position to include the recruitment and retention of students.
Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor Degree in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Business, Psychology or other related fields.EXPERIENCE: One year related experience. Residence life experience, specialized knowledge in conflict management.SPECIAL POSITION CONDITIONS:Applicant must be a full-time, exempt staff member at CAC. Incumbent is required to reside in the College provided apartment as primary residence.Open Until Filled

    Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet, e-mail. Knowledge in Leadership or supervisory and counseling. Knowledge of essential crisis and emergency response protocols and prior decision-making ability under pressure. Strong team-building skills. Strong communication skills. Strong customer service skills. Ability to serve as an effective role model. Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the developmental needs of students within the context of residence life and student activity programming. Demonstrated managerial abilities. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to handle multiple assignments with minimal supervision. Ability to remain calm and decisive in stressful circumstances. Availability to live on campus and to serve on an on-call 24 emergency rotation. Ability to easily engage university students in meaningful discussion and the ability to encourage participation in activities. Ability to work with diverse group of individuals.
