Job Description

NEW SIGN ON BONUSES!!!! $3,000 FT/$1,500 PT

(must be working at least 48 hours)

Shift Differential:

$1.50 additional an hour for overnight shifts!

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact.
  2. Must have a valid driver's license and have means of transportation.
  3. Education: A minimum of high school education is required. CNA is required. Completion of a state approved training program in medication administration with certificate received.
  4. Experience: Registered or certified nursing assistant in long-term care. Minimum of one-year experience working with a frail or elderly population required.
  5. Other Skills and Abilities Required:
    • Effective communicator with staff, families and outside agencies.
    • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action and as delegated by the licensed nurse.
    • Ability to prioritize duties.
    • Customer service oriented with knowledge of successful customer service techniques.
    • Ability to understand resident's charts, doctor's orders, participant's plan of care, medication orders and to communicate with residents and staff.
    • Numerical ability necessary for proper measuring of medication and to monitor specific resident cares.
    • Computer experience and ability to learn new programs. Data entry.
    • Must be detailed-oriented.
    • Motor coordination and manual dexterity are required to move and use hands easily and skillfully while passing medications and giving treatments.
    • Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the job without harm to self or others.
    • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
    • Able and willing to work flexible hours, such as during an emergency situation.
    • Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.
    • Only acts within the scope of his or her authority to practice. Must meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position description established by Senior Community Care and approved by CMS before working independently.
