Job Description Summary
The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic (Cohen Clinic) at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking an Outreach Manager. The Cohen Clinic is a part of the Cohen Veterans Network (CVN) and provides high quality mental health care for Veterans and military family members in Philadelphia and the tristate area, with a focus on the post-9/11 military community. Care is delivered in an evidenced-based, state-of-the-art program, offering a full range of behavioral health services.

The Outreach Manager reports directly to the Clinic Director and is responsible for the success of the clinic's outreach and partnership initiatives, including community, corporate, and governmental partnerships. They will be responsible for crafting the clinic's corporate partner strategies, in coordination with the clinic's overarching strategic plan and the strategic communications plan. The Outreach manager will establish metrics, manage data entry and accuracy, and monitor identified metrics to ensure the success of ongoing strategies. They will manage the clinic's Outreach budget to support these strategies. The Outreach Manager must establish and maintain collaborative and productive working relationships with a wide range of community organizations. The Outreach Manager will represent the University, CVN, and the Clinic to stakeholders across the tristate area, including hosting VIP visitors at the clinic, representing the clinic at community events and conferences, and interfacing with government officials in concert with Penn Government Affairs. In coordination with the clinic's Communications Strategist, the Outreach Manager will represent the clinic via media opportunities and speaking engagements and collaborate to produce events and programming hosted by the clinic. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong in- and out-referral relationships, keeping the clinical team abreast of resources in the community, coordinating with the care coordination team regarding needs and challenges, and addressing challenges with referral relationships. The Outreach Manager will work closely with the leadership team and the clinic's Communications Strategist to ensure continuity in externally facing communication and synchrony with clinic needs; real time access; and client, staff, and partner feedback. Finally, the Outreach Manager will play a supporting role in clinic development initiatives. Through their outreach activities, they will identify potential corporate partners, individual philanthropic donors, and foundation/grant opportunities to support the clinic's sustainment goals, and will work with the Clinic Director, Communications Strategist, and the Penn Medicine Development team to support development initiatives.

The population served at the Cohen Clinic is multicultural and diverse with respect to race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status, in addition to military affiliation. Accordingly, applicants with training, experience, or interest in with diverse populations would be a good fit for the position. Interested staff also have the opportunity to engage in a Racial Equity Working Group that meets monthly to continue to advance racial equity within the clinic, as well as for those we serve.

This position is anticipated to start on a hybrid in person and virtual schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Position requires extensive local travel (consistent with University guidance during the pandemic) as well as frequent evening and weekend hours to accommodate community and partner events.

Job Description

A Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Knowledge or experience with behavioral health is a plus. Masters in Social Work or a related discipline is a plus.

Experience in the military or working with veterans or military service members is strongly preferred.
