SUMMARY

Operations Logistic Supervisor is responsible to ensure the sectors of Logistics, Interline, trucking, and compliance are performing effectively for the welfare of the operation financially as well as operationally. The individual must be motivated to create structure and uphold policies for the welfare of the employees and operation. Ability to monitor staff KPI’s performance as well as operational KPI’s for the welfare of the company. Ability to analyze data and create improved processes and/or carry out new processes and policies. Ability to effectively carry out department policies as well as human resource policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following, but not limited to:

  • Logistics: domestic, international, direct drops, ground logistics
  • Customer service and customer retention at the operations level
  • Email correspondence with internal and external customers regarding logistics inbound and outbound and as well as interline
  • Interline freight connections, monitor KPI’s ensuring profitability
  • Interline customs compliance, monitor performance
  • Trucking for interline connections, local pickup, and deliveries
  • Truck maximization and profitability
  • Analytical reporting for all responsible areas
  • Employee KPI’s, mentoring, coaching, and corrective action
  • Must be able to lift - up to 90 lbs
  • Weigh freight using the regular scale as well as freight snap processing
  • Take dimensions manually as well as with freight snap
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office, teams, Descartes, and other software related to operations
  • Ability to audit all areas of responsibility
  • Review billing, internally and with outside vendors
  • Hazardous material awareness
  • DOT awareness
  • Customs Compliance awareness
  • AMS and QP bond awareness
  • Keep up to date with service products, special commodities, and special rates
  • ATC awareness and ability to carry out policies as required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES.
  • Ability to lead, delegate, and hold staff accountable with accuracy and reporting.
  • Ability to train and maintain recurrent training.
  • Ability to report employee progress or lack thereof, mentoring, create a corrective action plan. Issue coaching and corrective actions.
  • Maintain employee scheduling and attendance. As well as other analytical reports, administrative duties as tasked.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or CERTIFICATION:


  • Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school




REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:


  • Ability to write reports, interpret, understand reports and procedure manuals


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:


  • Minimum three years’ experience in a related capacity and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


SKILLS and/or ABILITIES:
  • Familiarized with Microsoft word, excel spreadsheets, and Adobe
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers
  • Excellent communication and writing skills are vital, should be as comfortable with people as with systems and technology
  • Must be a quick learner and adaptable to change in process or required activities
  • Professional appearance and behavior required including, but not limited to, punctuality, positive attitude, and reliability
  • Multilingual skills a plus

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:

Job duties include but are not limited to lifting, pulling, pushing, grasping, twisting (including wrists), reaching below and overhead, standing for long periods, squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and lifting heavy items. Warehouse climate conditions are subject to change without notice.

Mental, visual, and auditory acuity necessaryto work with or near moving mechanical parts (i.e., cooler, dock equipment), in high, precarious places (i.e., ladder work), and cold/hot climate conditions. Ability to work in moderate and loud noise environments including, but not limited to: computers, human voices, sound systems, and machinery.
