We will count on you to:

  • Review and approve inspection review findings and recommendations on bound accounts.
  • Demonstrate a proficient understanding of ICAT's forms, endorsements, and rating methodology.
  • Assist in the comprehensive review and analysis of submissions.
  • Determine risk of loss by meticulously studying rate tables, codes, computer records, and references to ensure accurate assessment of terms and conditions for coverage.
  • Support the issuance of insurance policies by calculating premium rates, collaborating with brokers to develop optimal insurance terms and conditions, and meticulously examining insurable conditions in alignment with underwriting policy.
  • Assist in identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities to expand the client base.
  • Effectively communicate internally and externally to gather information, provide rate quotes, and clarify company policies, thereby facilitating the underwriting process for client/broker (in the UK) accounts of varying complexity.
  • Collect and analyze comprehensive information on all new and existing insurance applications to drive the development of new business strategies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate preparation of insurance underwriting information, including policy intent, interpretation, and appropriate course of action for existing claims.
  • Support and grow assigned producer relationships by providing ongoing customer service and problem-solving.

What you need to have:
  • BA degree in insurance, business, or related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of progressive underwriting experience within the commercial property insurance industry or comparable experience.
  • Analytical aptitude; critical thinking

What makes you stand out?
  • 3+ years of progressive underwriting experience with agency management experience within the commercial insurance industry.
  • Knowledge of commercial property forms, pricing, and rating methodology, modeling, and valuation tools.
  • Working towards CPCU or other insurance designation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication including formal and informal presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with team members.
  • Professional presence.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $51,600 to $110,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
