The Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner provides exceptional direct diagnostic and therapeutic patient care to the highest standards of the organization as part of a multidisciplinary team. Participates in the delivery of patient care in the outpatient setting by performing initial and follow-up visits, as well as independent performance of approved clinical functions.

The Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner Cultivates a patient centric environment which focuses on the whole individual inclusive of physical, psychosocial, spiritual and functional needs of the patient and family. The NP acts as a resource and collaborates/cooperates with clinical staff and other hospital and health care disciplines for promotion of health to the optimal level of wellness for patients, families, and the community. This individual works in accordance with state law and hospital regulations, hospital policy, protocols and clinical pathways and may provide autonomous as well as team based care.

This position is non union and located at a NWH Cardiology outpatient satellite clinic in Chestnut Hill, MA.

Strong interpersonal

communication,

problem solving and conflict management skills required.

Knowledge of the special needs and behaviors of adult and older adult populations.

Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Masters degree from an accredited school of nursing required.

Demonstrated clinical competence and experience as required by the specific job posting.

Direct cardiovascular experience in ambulatory setting required.

Experience in prevention, lipid management, chronic cardiovascular disease management.

Current licensure as a

Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required.

Current Federal DEA prescribing privileges

Current Commonwealth of Mass Controlled Substances Registration.

CPR Training

required within first 3 months of employment.

Evidence of continued education and professional development.

Certification or advanced training in specialty are preferred.
