Compensation: $27.37/hr (LPN); $34.00/hr. (RN)

The ACT/Outpatient Float Nurse is a member of a nursing team that provides direct nursing care to Psychiatry and Assisted Community Treatment Clinics. They may spend extended periods of time in one clinic to help balance off long-term absences (i.e., illness, holidays, maternity leave, etc.).

This is a full-time benefit eligible position working Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 am and 5:00 pm. This candidate will be primarily in the Warrensburg office, but will float to multiple clinics in the Northwest and Southwest locations to provide coverage as needed.

Responsibilities Include:

  • * Plan, organize, and coordinate medication clinics for a broad scope of providers
    * Works independently, make decisions, meets deadlines, multi-task and solve problems; working under a moderate to a high degree of pressure
    * Acts as a patient advocate and facilitates communication between the patient, family, and other health care professionals
    * Provides nursing care using a problem-solving approach and following the standards, guidelines, and scope of professional nursing practice
    * Assess, plan, implement, document, and evaluate care to ensure a coordinated, holistic approach that best meets the patient's needs
    * Uses a holistic approach to facilitate individual learning of patients concerning patient needs
    * Communicate with other members of the health care team regarding the patient's health care to provide continuity of care and promote collaborative efforts directed toward quality patient care
    * Perform laboratory patient testing and reporting as assigned by the Laboratory Direction
    * Administer IM medications, dispense sample medications in accordance with policy, maintain accurate medications received and dispensed
    * Function as a case manager for consumers needing medication refills
    * Completes documentation regarding medication clinic
    * Active participant for meeting nursing quality outcomes measures
    * Broad knowledge and experience with computers
    * Prepare for frequent schedule changes and travel to neighboring clinics for nursing coverage and training
    * Other duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS & EXPOSURE RISK

* Regular exposure to blood and/or body fluids
* Regular exposure to biohazard and/or chemical waste materials



* Associate's degree in nursing required
* Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred

- Practical Nursing certificate required.

A valid driver's license and agency established minimum automobile coverage is required as driving is an essential function of this position

QUALIFICATION(S): LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: LPN, GPN, RN or GN that must pass the MO NCLEX exam within 90 days of graduation required.
