Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Tubular Products - Birmingham is seeking to fill the position of Mill Team Lead. The role of the Mill Team Lead is to oversee all areas of operations and equipment within the Mill and Warehouse. The successful candidate has a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of the processes involved in their functional units and is charged with the responsibility of leading team efforts, most importantly all safety efforts. The successful candidate has sufficient experience to align the commitments of their team to operations and safety programs, builds and promotes a team atmosphere between operations and maintenance ensuring 100% PM and WO team compliance, and works with the Shift Supervisor and ensure all paperwork is completed and correct to meet or exceed customer requirements.

• Maintain a safe work environment through leadership, training, and compliance to all company, state, and federal policies/procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects as well as analyze practices and procedures to increase efficiency in safety, quality, and production.
• Run mill equipment.
• Must be able to perform maintenance including PMs on the equipment.
• Interpret production documents.
• Must be able to work weekends and extended shifts as needed.
• Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior leadership experience

Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
