The Johns Hopkins Hospital Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU) is a 32 bed adult inpatient surgical unit. The unit offers 3 levels of care: floor, telemetry, and intermediate levels of care for acute cardiac, vascular, and other surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring. Care and services provided: coronary artery bypass, Heartmate© II or III & Heartware© mechanical circulatory support devices, valve replacement or repairs, Type A & B aortic dissections, fem-pop bypass, scalenectomy, TAVR, heart or lung transplantation. During the week there is an experienced resource nurse available to assist with admissions/discharges, transport monitoring, and emergencies. New graduate nurses will have a 14 week comprehensive orientation and Nurse Residency. You will participate in core department of surgery and critical care classes. Shifts: 12 hour day/night rotating
Qualifications:
- Minimum Education Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
- Applicants with an Associate's degree JHH provides Tuition Assistance $10,000 - $15,000 per fiscal year towards earning your BSN/MSN
- Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required
- BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted
- No RN work experience required
