This global team offers a unique career opportunity to work with all of the latest network technologies and talented engineers solving some of the most complex problems in the industry. This role will support evaluating power and cooling requirements for new network infrastructure to be deployed in our data center environment. We are also seeking someone who will support network infrastructure design standards throughout the data center design, construction, and facility operation.

Network Infrastructure Engineer, Global Design and Construction Responsibilities:

  • Support all aspects of data center construction and network deployment including new greenfield sites, collocation build outs, and retrofits
  • Work with network engineering, data center design, and data center connectivity teams to generate global infrastructure design standards
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for the physical network infrastructure deployment and design
  • Build and nurture business relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and vendors
  • Initiate and lead strategic initiatives driving efficiency, innovation, and standardization of our data centers
  • Support network related environmental monitoring and alerting schemas across various power and cooling metrics for use in automated tooling and reporting
  • Support design of network rack level power infrastructure in terms of product selection, installation/decom procedures, and power striping standards
  • Influence future iterations of data center and network designs to ensure seamless integration of new infrastructure and enable scalability
  • Maintain technical reference, process, and training documentation
  • Influence development of automation and tooling to drive consistency and efficiency in all aspects of network design, deployment, and operations
  • 25% of travel required based on project demand


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving large-scale data center projects
  • Organizational, multitasking, prioritization and communication experience
  • Knowledge of the data center design, construction, and start up/commissioning processes
  • Working knowledge of internet networking technologies (TCP/IP, routing, switching) and optical transport technologies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of structured cabling and fiber optic infrastructure including design and installation best practices, industry standards, application and limitations
  • Track record of solving problems, setting strategic direction, and executing tactically
  • 10+ years of work experience with designing and deploying large-scale data center network infrastructure
  • Knowledge of data center power and cooling infrastructure design


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge of inside/outside plant cable design and dark fiber builds
  • Knowledge of data center infrastructure management (DCIM) and physical security systems
  • Data center design or relevant telecommunications certifications
  • Familiarity with the Linux based systems and experience with scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Perl)
  • Experience working on a global team in a matrixed environment with limited supervision
  • Knowledge of data center facilities management using building management and automation systems
  • Experience leading and managing technical teams
  • Knowledge of data center power path including design and installation best practices and industry standards
  • Experience working with on-site construction teams and managing contractor and vendor relationships
