Gamestop, Inc is seeking a flexible, hands-on Network Engineer candidate to assist in design and implementation of campus network infrastructure, the retail store network, and hybrid-cloud datacenter presence. This role is responsible for the design, installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. This individual will analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, provide end user training where required, and provide architecture recommendations.

This role is primarily remote, but office presence may be required for collaboration and design projects. Candidate must be local to a Gamestop, Inc Hub office in Dallas/Fort Worth, Seattle, or South Florida (Ft Lauderdale / Hollywood).

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement new and enhanced technologies into the network
  • Adoption and adherence to current IT policies and processes
  • Design, implement and support Next Generation Firewalls or Unified Threat Management appliances
  • Support the design and analysis of LAN/WAN/WLAN network improvements and enhancements
  • Monitor system hardware and software and manage system and service performance.
  • Maintain documentation regarding network configuration, operating procedures, and runbook records
  • Determine capacity and performance planning goals
  • Prepare evaluation studies and make recommendations for vendor management and/or device selection
  • Participate in on-call rotation to respond to needs of a 24x7 environment. Must be flexible to work extended hours when required and be available for periodic weekend work

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Must have industry standard knowledge in LAN, WAN, and WLAN technologies and protocols
  • At least 2 years supporting public cloud deployments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Working knowledge of common router, switch, firewall, VPN, and management platforms among popular product families (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
  • Ability to think and troubleshoot full OSI stack from L1 though L7 including the ability to help App/Dev teams with application access concerns
  • Experience managing enterprise IPv4 addressing schemes
  • Network management and troubleshooting skills should include working knowledge of protocol analyzers, change management, and network monitoring systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player
  • Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills and demonstrate flexibility in day-to-day work
  • Working knowledge of effective problem solving and identifying innovative solutions, including new products
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills using spoken English, including the ability to explain complex ideas to others with varying levels of expertise throughout the organization
  • Proficient organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple, overlapping, and potentially conflicting priorities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or other related degree
  • Cisco CCNA certification required, CCNP/CCDP preferred
  • 5+ years of experience supporting, installing, configuring and troubleshooting enterprise network environments with Cisco product
  • Experience supporting Aruba, Juniper, Palo Alto or Fortinet devices
  • Experience supporting Network Access Control (802.1x) for wired and wireless networks, using Aruba ClearPass Policy Server and/or Cisco Identity Services Engine
  • Experience working with SSL Certificate Authorities and certificate management
  • Detailed technical knowledge in security engineering, system and network security, authentication and authorization protocols, cryptography and application security
  • Strong documentation skills, proficient in design documents and diagrams
  • Working knowledge of multi-unit (chain) retail systems and processes
