Network EngineerBCforward is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Network Engineer at Alpharetta, GATitle: Network Engineer Contract: 24+ Months with possible extension or permanentLocation: Alpharetta, GA Job Description:
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and intermittently improving our current network configuration and infrastructure. You will design our revamped network infrastructure with the goal of maximizing our network performance. You will also provide troubleshooting and configuration support by using your strong technical skills in LAN, WAN & Wi-fi environments and IP networking
• Manage LAN and WAN.
• Manage client wireless network.
• Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
• Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, switch, Access point proxy servers, switches, DNS and DHCP
• Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
• Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
• Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
• Arranging scheduled upgrades
• Investigating faults in the network
• Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
• Reporting network status to key stakeholders
• Support other towers (work groups) in cases of fault Skills Required:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related area
• 3 - 5 years of experience with network administration in a LAN, WAN & Wi-fi environment
• Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals
• Layer2: VLAN, TRUNK, DOT1Q, ARP, Collision domain, cam table/mac address table, MAC address, L2 switching, VLAN ACL / Private VLAN, Dot1x(802.1x), DHCP Snooping, Dynamic ARP Inspection, IP source guard, Port aggregation (LACP/PaGP), PortFast, BPDU Guard / Root Guard, Spanning-tree protocol, Multicast/Broadcast storm-guard, UDLD protocol / STP loop guard.
• Layer3: Routing, Broadcast domain, NAT+PAT, IPv4/IPv6, First Hop Redundancy Protocols (VRRP/HSRP/GLBP), link-state and distance vector protocols, Summarization & route filtering, VRF / Routing Instance, Anycast / Unicast / Multicast, GRE and IPsec, Path MTU Discovery, MPLS, BGP, OSPF.
• Firewall: Cisco ASA and Palo Alto
• Cisco Wireless network technology
• Any knowledge on proxy along with Active Directory
