Position: Network Administrator

Location: 2400 Sheridan Drive, Tonawanda NY

Schedule: M-F 8-5

What We Are Looking For

We're seeking a tech-savvy, experienced Network Administrator to maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, telephony, and applications software. Additionally, you will need to plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.

To support the business, you will ensure security, integrity and high availability of enterprise systems and related components to develop, administer and maintain the network infrastructure. You will work with constantly changing software, hardware, network security programs, and data storage systems. What You Will Do

• Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade corporate customer's networks and in-house servers.
• Install and integrate new server hardware and applications.
• Schedule and apply needed updates.
• Support and administer third-party applications.
• Ensure network security and connectivity.
• Operate master consoles in order to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, coordinate computer network access and use, and test for weaknesses.
• Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords.
• Resolve problems reported by the end-user.
• Define network policies and procedures.
• Specify system requirements and design solutions.
• Research and make recommendations on server system administration.
• Consult clients to specify system requirements and design solutions.
• Work with IT support personnel.
• Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
• Perform routine network startup and shutdown procedures, and maintain control records.
• Analyze equipment performance records in order to determine the need for repair or replacement.
• Maintain logs related to network functions, as well as maintenance and repair records.
• Make sure that employees' workstations are working efficiently and they stay connected to the central computer network.

What You Will Need

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field a plus
• Experience or certification with Fortinet security fabric is preferred.
• Proven experience in a network administrator role
• Hands-on experience in networking, routing, and switching
• Knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
• Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN's remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
• Ability to set up and configure server hardware
• Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
• Great at organizing, prioritizing and multitasking • Cisco or Fortinet training/certification is desirable.
• Ability to work and tactfully communicate effectively with all levels of management throughout the organization(s)
• Commitment to integrity and ethical behavior and the proven ability to maintain confidentiality
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times
