Description
SAIC is in need of an Amphibious/Expeditionary Warfare SME to provide advanced, pre-deployment training for integrated Navy and Marine Corps forces. This position is for someone who is passionate about training and ensuring our Navy-Marine Corps team is fully ready for deployment. Place of performance is San Diego, CA, with occasional travel to Fleet Concentration Areas. Work is in support of war games, instructional courses, and integrated fleet training, including Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training.
The Amphibious Warfare SME will:
• Develop war game scenarios to support the pred-deployment training and integration of various Navy and Marine Corps units, including, but not limited to Amphibious Ready Groups/Marine Expeditionary Units, Expeditionary Strike Groups/Marine Divisions, and Carrier Strike Groups/Marine Littoral Regiments.
• Present war games using government-furnished modeling and simulation/command and control systems, role-playing amphibious/expeditionary components as required, and facilitating accomplishment of training objectives through liaison with the military staff.
• Liaise with Navy, Marine Corps, and Joint centers of excellence, and provide SME support in latest USN/USMC doctrine, tactics, techniques and procedures for amphibious and expeditionary warfare.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree - additional years of experience accepted in lieu of degree
• Must be able to obtain an interim Secret clearance prior to start date and Secret clearance once on board.
• 10 years demonstrated Naval expertise in planning, implementation and execution of amphibious/expeditionary operations, direction and employment of units, and coordination requirements between amphibious and expeditionary components, subordinate elements, and higher headquarters.
• Experience as a battalion/squadron operations officer or regimental/group or above watch officer, or qualification as Tactical Action Officer, airborne Mission Commander, force Battle Watch Captain, or equivalent warfare area qualification that demonstrates expertise in amphibious/expeditionary warfare
• Thorough knowledge of amphibious and expeditionary unit capabilities and limitations.
• Experience translating amphibious and expeditionary training objectives into a comprehensive war game exercise.
• Demonstrated understanding of the Naval Services’ strategic guidance and Naval Integration, as well as their implications for the force in future operating environment.
