The Mortgage Branch Manager is responsible for the hiring, management and leadership of the retail loan production office staff. The primary function is to serve as a sales manager developing and implementing sales strategies to foster loan growth and to expand loan sourcing channels within the local market. As a non-producing manager, they are responsible for meeting mortgage loan production goals, coordinate sales meetings, train staff, and implement procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, train and retain qualified loan officers
  • Implement, manage and track tactical goals for individual loan officers
  • Ensure team members meet or exceed sale and service goals as established by the Credit Union
  • Assist direct reports by answering questions, clarifying loan guidelines and helping resolve complex loan related matters
  • Hold regular meetings to communicate changes in procedures, share best practices and recognize top performers
  • Actively monitor the team's pipeline to ensure compliance requirements are met and members are contacted in a timely manner
  • Direct, motivate and discipline mortgage personnel
  • Assist team members in the development of Realtor/Builder relationships and other referral sources
  • Participate in job-related organizations and community groups to enhance the network of beneficial contacts
  • Keep informed of trends, changes and developments in the local real estate market
  • Develop/execute overall market strategy to increase retail volume, market share and profitability
  • Inform management of mortgage origination activities, needs and problems
  • Prepare and submit standard reports
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Adhere to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) regulations and all related Credit Union policies and procedures


Qualifications

  • High School diploma, Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • 3-5 years of Mortgage Lending experience as an originator and a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Ability to manage all phases of residential mortgage origination
  • SAFE Act licensing required
