Job Summary

The role, "Manager, Network & Information Security" (herein referred to as The Manager), will be responsible for managing and directing the city's 5-8 person Network and Information Security Teams, as well as managing contractor/staff-augmentation resources as required. The role will coordinate and plan 24/7 support model for network resources and will be responsible for various financial, budget, and other administrative duties as required to support their team's mission.

This position will partner closely with IT Leadership, the other Managers, technology Architects, and the Connexion Broadband team to help guide the delivery cohesive solutions across the city. The Manager will be responsible for managing medium to large scale projects in the network and infosec domain, as required.

The Manager is responsible for scheduling and directing the activities and workloads of a team of Network Engineers, Information Security Analysts, and Technicians. This includes providing exceptional leadership for the team, creating strong team dynamics, and managing performance and professional development. In addition, the Network and InfoSec Manager will be responsible for ensuring team compliance with all IT and City process, procedures, guidelines, and policies.

Ideal candidate will have experience managing teams of similar size, in similar technical domains. Preference will be given to candidates who have active certifications in Network and Information Security (i.e. CCNA, SEC+, Network+, GSEC, CISSP, etc.)

Position will report to the Sr. Manager of Enterprise Technology

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing and directing the city's Network and Information Security Teams
  • Managing contractor/vendor/staff-augmentation resources as required
  • Coordinate and plan 24/7 support model for network resources.
  • Hiring Manager for technical positions in your department(s)
  • Setting performance goals and evaluating progress toward those goals
  • Recognizing and coaching of employee performance.
  • Foster employee's career growth and progression.
  • Supervise the implementation of new technologies and business processes to improve efficiency.
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct the workloads of your team members.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing coverage and alignment of position responsibilities for each shift.
  • Have a working knowledge of IT best practices, and can employ the capabilities of available tools to support all aspects of the IT Service Lifecycle
  • Act as a liaison with senior level managers, other key stakeholders, management, analysts, programmers & other IT / Cyber Security professionals within the organization to identify & execute collaborative solutions.
  • Serve as IT Incident Escalation Manager On-Call, as required, in pool of IT managers.

Required Qualifications

MinimumPreferredCollege degree or equivalent work experience.
