The Metrology Technician is responsible for hands-on detailed testing, data collection and analysis, and communicating results to engineering teams. In this position overtime may be required.

This position is part of the Engineering Multifunction/General and will be located in Sunnyvale, CA. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Develop metrology programs on automated Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) that are capable of high reproducibility and repeatability.
• Perform gauge R&R, equivalency studies, Test Method Validation (TMV), and statistical analysis.
• Document metrology program designs with work instructions, step-by-step descriptions, and validation paperwork etc.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• 1 + years of metrology/quality development activities and AS in Engineering, Mathematics or related experience preferred
• Experience with statistical packages (Ex: Minitab), CMM Programming (Ex: Micro-Vu InSpec), CAD Software (Ex: Solidworks)
• Understand statistical techniques, such as confidence intervals, control charts, tolerance bands, % Tolerance, % Standard Variation, Standard Deviation.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Assist Engineers with a broad range of parts development activities
