Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Medical Assistant in the Franklin Recovery Center program at Behavioral Health Network!

**NOTICE**

In accordance with the BHN Mandatory COVID vaccine policy - all staff, interns, temps, residents and contractors are required to be fully vaccinated no later than day one of employment. Medical or religious exemptions will be offered and must be approved prior to starting work.

The same guidelines noted above apply during flu season (defined as December 1st - through end of flu season as announced by the CDC) for BHN's Mandatory Influenza Vaccine policy.

Additionally, BHN is a Tobacco Free workplace. All Staff, interns, temps, residents and contractors agree not to smell of or use Tobacco or ENDS products while on paid work time or within sight of any BHN facility.

Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Franklin Recovery Center with the following:

  • Delivering services to patients and support to medical providers.
  • Obtaining and recording patient vital signs, as needed.
  • Completing assessments of individuals prior to their medical appointments, as needed.
  • Identifying, evaluating, responding and reporting changes in patient's conditions, including laboratory reports.
  • Administering vaccines, when indicated.
  • Managing scheduling of admissions and ATS/OBOT/OTP appointments with providers.
  • Managing phone and email communication with the Access Department regarding pending admissions.
  • Coordinating aftercare follow-up for patients on MAT.
  • Coordinating with the pharmacy regarding queuing medications and obtaining prior authorizations.
  • Managing the Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) for patients upon intake.
  • Completing paperwork related to services in a quality and timely manner in compliance with applicable rules/regulations.
  • Assisting with clerical duties, such as scanning, filing, assembling patient charts, and ordering supplies.

The Franklin Recovery Center in Greenfield, MA serves those 18 years of age and older who are suffering from drug and alcohol addiction and are at the beginning of their recovery. A multi-disciplinary treatment team including the medical director work with a team of recovery specialists, counselors, and nurses to provide acute treatment and detoxification services to patients of Franklin Recovery Center.

What are we looking for in a Medical Assistant?
  • Medical Assistant Certificate or Degree or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) (required).
  • At least one year of experience working as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (required).
  • Experience working with adults in a medically monitored acute treatment setting.
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills (required).
  • Familiarity with Internet, word processing and email systems (required).
  • Willingness and ability to work with challenging and diverse individual populations (required).
  • Competent in caring for individuals with a variety of different cultural and religious backgrounds (required).
