Conviva is seeking a dedicated, compassionate and cheerful -Certified MEDICAL ASSISTANT - who has a soft spot for our senior members and wants to make a positive impact in their lives. Due to company needs, we anticipate a need to hire variable staffing in the medical assistant role for our clinics. The medical assistant will be covering PTO, Sick calls and on a PRN basis. They will float between San Antonio clinics.

At A Glance:

The Certified Medical Assistant performs clinical duties such as discussing symptoms and gathering and inputting information into the electronic medical records system, taking vital signs, giving injections, performing diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, and maintaining examination rooms at an outpatient care site. Collaborates closely with Physicians and Nurses.

Medical Assistant Job Functions:

• Prepares the examination room for the patient
• Performs EKGs and PFTs
• Taking patient vital signs and recording vitals in medical chart
• Draws blood for elderly patients
• Assist doctor
• Scheduling appointments for patients as well as registration
• Verifies patient information by interviewing patients; reviewing and/or recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit or treatment.

This role is considered patient facing and is part of the company's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.

Medical Assistant Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Medical Assistant Degree (diploma or AA) REQUIRED

• Minimum of 1 year professional experience as a Medical Assistant in 'back-office' direct patient care
• Required: Active Medical Assistant Certification or Registration from the following: American Association of Medical Assistant (AAMA), National Healthcareer Association, American Registry of Medical Assistants, National Association for Health Professionals, and/or American Medical Technologist
• LVN or LPN license is acceptable in lieu of MA diploma/certification.

• Excellent customer service.
• Must be a team player with excellent communication skills
• Willingness to learn and be cross trained in other roles based on business need

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with HEDIS
• Bilingual English/Spanish- Must be able to speak, read, and write in both languages without limitations or assistance
• Hands-on professional Phlebotomy experience
• Phlebotomy certification

Working hours:

Training will require two weeks at 40 hours/per week

This role is a Variable Staffing Pool (VSP), similar to a PRN role.

This role is a float position for the San Antonio Market (to include Floresville and New Braunfels)

Hours can change and vary based on business needs.

The standard hours of the clinic are Monday to Friday 8AM - 5PM
