Job Summary:
Responsible for performing a variety of routine hazardous and non-hazardous waste tasks in the movement and processing of various waste in various container sizes/types. Tasks could include: Following procedures & directions, performing manual labor, proper usage of PPE, operating mobile equipment (manual and powered), operating fixed / stationary equipment, loading & unloading containers, performing equipment inspections, identification of various container sizes/types, scanning container movements, consolidation of containers & material, staging containers in a designated area, recognize markings & labels. Tasks will be performed on a daily basis in the designated processing area as assigned by Leads & Supervisors in order to meet processing objectives for material disposal.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work as directed by supervisors, leads, trainers, or mentors
Recognize various container sizes & types
Recognize labels & markings
Understand and follow procedures & processes
Load and unload various size containers (totes, drums, tankers, trailers. etc.) using mechanical or manual means
Use a variety of tools such as impact wrenches, shovels, jackhammers, etc
. Transport hazardous materials from storage locations within the facility as directed
Decontaminate and dispose of empty drums and/or containers according to RCRA and disposal guidelines
Assist in completing all necessary paperwork for processing materials to include transportation of materials to and from various locations
Perform general housekeeping duties
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Inspect material handling equipment as required
Assist in the loading/unloading of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials at designated sites utilizing appropriate equipment for which you are appropriately trained.
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
High School diploma or GED equivalent
3 to 6 months of general labor experience
Forklift experience preferred
Certification/Licenses:
40-Hour HAZWOPER training preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
Ability to communicate through reading and writing
Trained in the use of material handling equipment
