Description

Our Guardian Industries facility in Evansville, IN is recruiting for Material Handlers. Material Handlers operate forklifts and/or handcart to physically supply parts, bins, empty racks, boxes, etc. to support production needs. This role interacts and supports Vision Guided Vehicles (VGV) in supplying materials directly to production operators.

  • Starting Pay -$18.00
  • 401K -7% Match
  • Vacation -3 Weeks


Shift: Second Shift - 2:45p - 11p (M-F; weekends and overtime may be necessary)

The Material Handler operates a forklift and/or handcart to physically supply parts, bins, empty racks, boxes, etc. to support production needs. This role interacts and supports Vision Guided Vehicles (VGV) in supplying materials directly to production operators. This position requires flexibility in work overtime including 10-12 hour shifts and weekends on an as needed basis."

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Ensure accurate labeling and scanning of finished product within department
  • Stage materials to ensure no disruption of production flow; stage materials for on-coming shift
  • Monitor inventory levels and provide constant communication with the department, forklift operator and other material handlers
  • Audit finished goods for accuracy (# count)
  • Responsible for material quarantine procedures and practices
  • Comply with all packaging requirements within department
  • Practice 5-S and workplace organization functions to ensure area is clean and safe
  • Practice safe work behaviors, complying with all safety rules and guidelines
  • Responsible for all other jobs as assigned
  • Observe & comply with all safety and environmental policies & procedures


The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • To observe & comply with all safety and environmental policies & procedures
  • Must have a at least 6 months of forklift experience in a manufacturing environment, and demonstrated ability to drive a forklift
  • Experience with lane management systems
  • Must be able to work any shift and all overtime required
  • Knowledge of 5-S Standards throughout department


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Operating in a production environment and assembly equipment

  • Previous experience with safety protocols involving automation equipment
