Summary

This position reports to the Terminal Supervisor or Manager and is responsible for the safe unloading of cement from rail cars, movement of railcars using Track mobile, minor plant/equipment maintenance/lubrication and general upkeep and housekeeping of the facility and grounds. This position will also cross-train to load and ticket trucks.

\u3000Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an industrial environment. Experience with movement of bulk materials by rail and/or truck strongly preferred

• Ability to read and communicate in English with fellow employees, railroad representatives, drivers, and customers.

• Must understand and comply with all safety requirements including lockout, tag-out, try out and fall protection standards.

• Must be willing to work in a team environment.

• Excellent personal safety record and commitment to safe work practices

• High School diploma or equivalent strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Lubricates various mobile equipment and plant machinery

• Operates a skid steer/bobcat and Track mobile as needed

• Unloads rail cars and performs railcar movements (empty and full) on the property to maximize the efficiency of the unloading process and minimize the risk of demurrage\u3000

• Visually inspects equipment and machinery to ensure proper operation or identify any needed repairs

• Provides backup for lead position and cross-trains to learn these duties

• Assist with inventory

• Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to operate hand levers, foot pedals and steering wheel on mobile equipment.

• Able to climb stairs and ladders to inspect railcars, silos, and bins and perform duties throughout the work day\u00B7\u3000\u3000

• Must have sufficient hand-eye coordination and vision to safely operate mobile equipment in close quarters with plant traffic.\u3000\u3000

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively as needed.

• Bending, stooping, climbing and reaching around all areas of equipment and plant to clean, paint, service, etc.

• Able to stand up to 12 hours daily.

• Manual dexterity to use hand and power tools as necessary

• Work occasionally in confined spaces with low clearance requiring bending and kneeling.

• Will have exposure to all levels of noise that require use of hearing protection
