The Novelis North America Supply Chain team is growing and is looking for a Master Planning Analyst in Atlanta, GA. This position is responsible for the integration, coordination and monitoring and enablement of all planning activities for an assigned product line. The incumbent enables the planning process by setting and maintaining master data, setting and planning process parameters and troubleshooting issues associated with planning. This individual also has the responsibility for monitoring that customer orders, SAP planned orders and production center schedules are in line with the plan for the product line. To discharge these responsibilities the person must possess planning expertise and strong analytical skills to identify the root cause of planning and data problems. The incumbent works under the direction of the Product Line Manager. The incumbent works closely with S&OP planners, production center planners, tolling planners, demand managers and commercial team to formulate the plan, supervise execution and resolve issues.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Trouble shoot planning issues reported by AMS, production center planners and tolling planners, for the assigned product line and facility. Investigate the issue; resolve it or document it and advance as appropriate.
  • Partner with Facility Planning teams to assure efficient metal flow to our Customers. Supervise order bookings versus S&OP and available capacity. Recommend lead time changes when appropriate.
  • Facilitate Intra-divisional Process. Ensure alignment with S&OP and process weekly order placement between facilities through legacy systems.
  • Coordinate product route changes to react to unplanned outages or anticipated capacity constraints. Determine products involved. Initiate and supervise the associated MDM (Master Data Management) requests.
  • Supervise Machine center performance to identify system wide issues and work with facility planning and AMS teams to take appropriate action.
  • Systematically review order status and metal position in multiple legacy systems, from casting to delivery to customer, to ensure timely production. Take corrective action, coordinating with production center planners.
  • Initiate MDM requests to correct process / order planning parameters (lot size, lead time, etc.)
  • Review lead time by product to ensure order alignment with manufacturing lead time
  • Review historical planned vs. actual lead time by products.
  • Work with facility planning teams to expedite any hot / rush orders through production
  • Partner with plant process/quality engineers to assure accuracy of master data parameters (e.g. equipment run rates, yields, etc.) for each product specifications.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or similar subject area with exposure to supply chain management through experience and/or course work
  • Over 5 years related experience in multinational manufacturing company, similar industry is preferred
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills; ability to connect with all levels in the organization and be a phenomenal teammate
  • Desire to take initiative and develop a pro-active relationship with customers (internal & external) through follow-up, understanding their needs and encouraging a collaborative relationship
  • Must be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manipulate, cleanse and analyze large amounts of data in Excel
  • Ability to extract data from various data sources, analyze the information in Excel and draw conclusions and recommendations
  • Proven digital literacy. Proven understanding of Microsoft Office. Ability to learn new software programs quickly
  • Must also possess leadership skills to advise, lead and develop other personnel to accomplish personal, plant and corporate objectives
