Position title:Master Data Steward

Location: Hybrid mode inMontreal, Quebec or Fort Mill, South Carolina

Reports to:Manager, Master Data

Reporting to the Applications & Master Data Manager, this role will have key responsibilities creating and maintaining new and existing master data records. As well as provide analytical assistance to Inside Sales, Production and Planning, Accounts Payables and converting mills to ensure quality and availability of information for both daily operations and projects. This role also involves identifying inconsistencies in data; gaps in processes and possessing the desire to effectively improve business by seeking solutions and offering alternatives.

One who can effectively communicate with members of the Applications Data and Master Data teams as well as understand the usage of business meanings and application of the data.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage business requests for new and existing master data records in JDE, Baan, SAP and DPS systems.
  • Identify data errors or inconsistencies in customer, supplier, and item data; gaps in processes and understand proposed solutions. Ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data.
  • Perform routine data checks on existing transactions. Analyze data quality.
  • Collaborate with team on issues and solutions. This involves working closely with other teams, such as finance and procurement, to resolve any data-related issues and maintain a high level of data integrity.
  • Vendor Communication and Support: Act as a point of contact with mill procurement/AP for vendor-related queries, issues, and escalations.
  • Ensure that all necessary legal, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements are met while setting up and maintaining vendor master records. This includes verifying tax identification numbers, validating vendor certifications, and ensuring adherence to vendor onboarding processes and policies.
  • Perform testing in ERP for application changes. Develop and present training to new Data Management employees. Support implementation of tools or procedures that improve current processes and cause no negative impact.
  • Act as a human interface between Inside Sales and IT on master data changes and enhancements.
  • Ensure effective usage and adherence to regulations and guidelines set out for master data maintenance.

Professional Experience/Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree preferred and/or equivalent experience.
  • Industry and product knowledge helpful or a minimum of 2 years experience in a Business-to-Business sales environment.
  • Successful candidate will possess good communication, listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be proficient in various software application programs including Microsoft Office utilities.
    ERP systems knowledge such as SAP, Baan or JDE preferred.
  • Winshuttle scripts - run and create skillset preferred.
  • Organization skills and attention to detail are critical to success in this role.
