The Opportunity:

In this position, you will oversee two corporate and government membership programs as well as the public relations and communications efforts and conferences for the Energy Systems Innovation Center (ESIC), along with serving as the primary point of contact for ESIC, Research Excellence Program, Power Education Partnership and Advanced Grid Institute (AGI) programs. You will provide day-to-day administrative support for the AGI, which is housed at WSU Pullman and operated in partnership with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in addition to assisting the directors of AGI with long term and strategic planning. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to develop and execute the institute's branding, marketing, and communications activities.


Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field and three (3) years of professional level experience in marketing, promotional or related work. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

  • Extensive computer skills, proficiency using software programs including word processing, electronic spreadsheets, email, and electronic calendaring is required.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communications, and writing skills.

  • The ability to handle difficult situations and simultaneous priorities with skill, diplomacy, and good judgment.

  • Experience in higher education.

  • Experience managing a research center is highly desirable.

  • Experience representing an organization to external stakeholders.

  • Higher education fundraising experience, especially corporate experience, is highly desirable.

Monthly Salary: $4,061.90 - $6,092.84 | In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range. For additional information, please review WSU's Administrative Professional Compensation.
