Job Description

The MFG HR Transformation Lead is responsible for being the single point of contact for the Manufacturing HR/LR and the Manufacturing organizations to provide focused Workday training and to transform the organization to align with the new Workday platform, new HR related business processes and the new HR Operating Model.

This role will be the Manufacturing Change Agent to ensure the Workday application, HR Operating Model and business processes are embraced by the MFG HR/LR and MFG teams. They will be the initial point of contact for issues, concerns, and/or potential changes. They will also have a high degree of collaboration with the HR Operations and Systems (HROS) team and HR Communities of Excellence (CoE) teams, to ensure that business processes enhancements and changes are communicated holistically throughout the Manufacturing HR/LR and Manufacturing teams. Work involves a high level of collaboration with cross functional working teams, independent judgment and creativity with a willingness to drive change.

The MFG Transformation Lead will demonstrate GM's behaviors (Think Customer, Innovate Now, Look Ahead, One Team, Be Bold, It's On Me, Win with Integrity, and Be Inclusive).

  • Conduct focused Workday Training across the Manufacturing HR/LR and Manufacturing organizations to ensure alignment and understanding of the new Workday platform, the new HR related business processes and the new HR Operating Model.
  • Supports the Mfg HR/LR and MFG in resolving errors and/or issues that are experienced before escalation to Shared Service Center to ensure that only those true system problems are escalated.
  • Serve as the Manufacturing HR/LR initial single point of contact for Workday escalations and inquiries prior to escalating to the Shared Service Center.
  • Serves as the Manufacturing HR/LR single point of contact for potential opportunities for changes and prioritization of MFG requested Workday changes to the HR Operations and Systems (HROS) team.
  • Partner with the HR Operations and Systems (HROS) team and HR CoEs for development of business process updates to enhance the employee experience, including creation of new CRs to meet goals.
  • Serves as the Manufacturing HR/LR and MFG single point of contact to participate in activities to identify process efficiencies (HROS : Business Process Value Stream Mapping and Talent Development : Employee Experience Enhancements) - with the employee experience at the center.
  • Serves as the Manufacturing HR/LR and Manufacturing team's Change Agent to ensure that business process enhancements and changes are communicated holistically and embraced.
  • Single point of contact for MFG HR/LR and Manufacturing to support the IT/HROS led Portfolio Planning process - collaboration with IT, HROS, GBS and HR CoEs.
  • Liaison with the IT/HROS team for other systems across all of Manufacturing (e.g HCC, Kronos, etc).

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experienc; Master's degree preferred
  • Able to convert product/process information into alternatives, recommendations and ultimately drive for decisions
  • Experience within General Motors of being a change agent with the ability to re-imagine business process
  • Program Management knowledge and the need to meet deliverables and timing
  • Able to deal with ambiguity but drive clarity to cross functional team members
  • A passion and desire to think outside of the box
  • Communicates powerfully & prolifically
  • Works independently, takes initiative and completes tasks with minimal supervision

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Knowledge of Workday and HR/LR business processes
  • Ability to translate business needs into solutions inside and outside of Workday
  • Work experience in developing strategic visions and leading project teams
  • A passion to simplify end user experience and has a focus on customer needs
