Job Description

Positions available in the following locations (Company provided relocation assistance is unavailable for these roles):

Indiana, Kentucky, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas

What Group Leaders Do?

You will have supervisory responsibilities for a group of employees to develop business processes, manage production operations and foster an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation. Candidate possesses the ability to deal with complex problems. Work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS); focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). You will maintain awareness of quality standards, and communicate department quality goals, and demonstrates resources to solve quality issues. You will build and maintain good working relationships with employees, union and management. You will consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union. Implement and follow systems that prevent reoccurrence of known issues.

Your start date is contingent on timely completion of tasks in your Workday Account.

Qualifications Required For All Positions

  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead diverse/cross-functional teams as well as mentor, empower and elicit work output from peers and other team members
  • Basic computer proficiency (i.e. Microsoft Word, typing, email etc.)
  • Willingness to work weekends and rotate shifts

In addition to our core requirements above mentioned, we are looking to hire Group Leaders in 3 departments within our manufacturing facilities across the United States:

Maintenance Group Leaders
Supervise a group of employees. Responsible for operations, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment

Required:
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are complex
  • Proven project management and communication skills
  • Experience with SAP and MAXIMO (preferred)
  • Minimum of 1 year of related maintenance experience (preferred)

Production Group Leaders
Supervise a group of employees to develop business processes, manage production operations and foster an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation. Consistently administer National and Local Agreement between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union

Preferred:
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Processes (CIP)
  • Proficient in Throughput Improvement Process (TIP)
  • Advanced understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Experience supervising employees in a union environment

Quality Group Leaders
Supervise a group of technical personnel engaged in problem solving, inspection, quality control, quality assurance and GM Built-in-Quality activities

Required:
  • High analytical ability where problems are complex
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work optimally with all levels of the organization
  • 3 Years Supply Chain/Quality Experience (preferred)
  • Experience implementing Built-in-Quality Initiatives (preferred)
  • Red X & DFSS Certification (preferred)
