The Manufacturing Coordinator is responsible for a variety of administrative tasks within the Machining Department. This position will interface with Machinists/Operators, Cost Estimators, Production Supervisors, and the Training Coordinator to enhance current production processes, determine best practices for new products and implement training program material.
Key Accountabilities:
- Review requests from Supply Chain for remnant substitution
- Review and update standards as needed
- Work with Cost Estimators to establish best practices for routers for families of parts at each work center
- Review with operators to determine why machining standards were not met
- Review new parts to determine proper method of machining
- Review scrap events with operators and make recommendations
- Assist Training Coordinator with training programs for operators
- Provide montly documentation to be reviewed by manager
- Other duties as assigned
Your Profile:
- Subject matter expert in machining - lathes, mills, and conventional equipment. Minimum 5-7 years of experience.
- Extensive knowledge of SGL Carbon's production processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Self motivated
- Computer proficiency
