ABOUT THE JOB

The Facilities Department maintains & provides quality physical environments that support living, learning and working for people with developmental and mental health diagnoses, helping to ensure the present and future wellbeing of our clients and workforce.

The Jewish Board is currently seeking a Safety Training Manager to support our Real Estate team in their work to provide staff and clients with safe and secure work spaces and living quarters throughout the five boroughs of New York City and Westchester. This position will be in the lead to ensure that fire safety systems in all Jewish Board programs are operating up to code and are supported by staff who are properly trained and certified to manage those systems. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare agency staff for FDNY Certificate of Fitness (COF) tests; Explain the operation of Fire Alarm Control Panels; Simulate real life scenarios with real life examples and appropriate responses; Create and deliver a focused and engaged training methodology
  • Develop and maintain systems to monitor compliance with fire safety requirements; Partner with the Compliance Department to monitor adherence to fire drill requirements
  • Work closely with regional Facilities teams to ensure fire doors, alarm systems, and extinguishers at all agency properties are regularly checked and operating properly; Continuously visit agency sites throughout NYC and Westchester to inspect systems, assess fire safety, conduct trainings, and support programs in emergency preparedness
  • Other duties as assigned

TO QUALIFY:

The Jewish Board is currently looking for qualified individuals of all cultures, religions, races, and gender expressions with the following requirements:

  • A High School degree is required; A Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • 3 years of experience, including experience in Training; Experience with a local fire department is preferred
  • A current, valid clean driver's license is required for this position
  • Train-the-trainer level understanding of FDNY COF's, specifically but not limited to:
  • S95 Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems, F-80 Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm Systems in Homeless Shelters & F-07 Fire and Emergency Drill Conductor
  • Military Veteran is a Plus
