Job Description Summary
The responsibilities of this position will be to provide assistance and oversight with single-center and multi-center clinical research trials conducted within the Cardiology Clinical Research Unit (CCRU). This position will span the multiple specialty-divisions of Cardiology and will require coordinating efforts within the CCRU as well as with collaborating sites and external institutions. The project manager will interface with multiple investigators (internal & external), and will work closely with the CCRU program manager.
The responsibilities for the position include: manage start-up activities including but not limited to feasibility assessments, budgeting, and PennChart research alert development; oversee/develop study materials, specifically informed consent documents, protocol materials, SOPs, meeting materials and project updates for regulatory requirements; assist with database development and quality control reports; streamline and oversee day-to-day operations; troubleshoot challenges with collaborators and stakeholders; monitor study progress and identify means to meet study recruitment and retention goals; recruiting, training, and supervising full - and part-time research staff; monitor studies for regulatory compliance and risk reduction; build CCRU awareness and branding and serve as a back-up for traditional CRC activities.

Responsible for day to day management of complex projects conducted with collaborators both internal and external to Penn. With mentoring from the Principal Investigator, the Research Project Manager will take leadership role in developing study protocols, writing grants, managing the detailed operations of projects, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, cultivating close relationships with community partner organizations, and drafting/editing manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journal. He/she will help develop the team's research strategy and will have ample opportunities to lead projects and co-author papers. Will be required to ensure that studies/research are conducted safely and according to protocol, provide supervision to educators and teams conducting the study/interventions and collaborates with peers from other Universities and funding agencies. Will also be responsible for coordinating grant applications and interacts with funding administrators and the University Business Office. Provides significant contributions to presentations and manuscripts, including multiple drafts for review and dissemination. Plays a primary role in other dissemination activities related to project findings.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
