Role description:

The Quality Analysis Manager originates and develops analysis methods to determine the risk and performance of glass containers and the manufacturing process. This role analyzes data, prepares technical reports defining potential risks in container and manufacturing processes, and makes recommendations for improvement. This position provides technical support to manufacturing sites and conducts classroom training. The Quality Analysis Manager maintains procedures and work instructions for various test and measurement equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for design review, customer evaluation, and manufacturing performance
  • Completes risk assessment of internal and customer manufacturing process
  • Performs glass fracture analysis and leads team member training in fracture analysis
  • Completes technical reports for corporate groups and manufacturing sites
  • Provides on-site training for lab inspection and measurement equipment
  • Creates and maintains quality standards, procedures, and instructions
  • Comply with environmental and food safety standards as set forth in plant policies and programs within the departmental responsibilities

Minimum skills / qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, science, or a related field
  • Practical knowledge of glass fracture analysis for determining glass failure modes
  • Ability to conduct and interpret results of Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Capable of creating technical reports documenting analysis, results, summary, and recommendation.
  • Experience conducting classroom training
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with various levels of corporate and plant management as well as hourly team members
  • Effective problem solver with the ability to work independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

Preferred skills / qualifications:
  • Lean and Six Sigma tools (i.e. DMAIC problem solving, SPC, GR&R, etc.)
  • Experience in a glass container or mold design
