The Manager on Duty (MOD) Passenger Service plans, directs, and coordinates daily Passenger Services Operations for our airline customer(s). This is a fast-paced public facing role that works closely with frontline TAS Team Members and their Supervisors to ensure service delivery to passenger and airline alike. This role is vital to ensure the optimization of resources to meet and exceed customer expectation and airline customer KPIs. The MOD will be responsible for mentoring their reporting supervisors and ensuring through documentation and regular feedback TAS Team Members are meeting expectations of their role and adhering to all TAS Practices, Policies and Procedures. The MOD will be expected to liaise and communicate in person and in writing with Airline Customer Management and other TAS Departments on a regular basis including representing TAS at airport meetings and functions.
Essential job duties and responsibilities for this position include the following:

  • Plans and manages all aspects of the Passenger Service operation supporting the Passenger Service Manager and Passenger Service Supervisors.
  • Ensures carrier expectations are met for a professional and safe working environment and that departures are safe and on-time.
  • Practices safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
  • Communicates daily with airline customer regarding operational activities.
  • Ensure Station complies with all company standards and procedures (safety, training, operations, and administration).
  • Executes on action plans to meet operational and organizational objectives.
  • Implements company practices and policies with all TAS Team Members.
  • Ensure proper scheduling of Supervisors, Leads and Agents.
  • Monitor’s employees’ actual hours versus budgeted production hours.
  • Perform operational audits on a routine basis.
  • Conduct pre/post operational briefings with Supervisors.
  • Assists in the hiring and training of personnel and the coordination of new hire paperwork.
  • Conduct performance evaluations on team members.
  • Ensures employees are complying with the company’s uniform policy and dress code.
  • Monitors attendance and works with HR on infractions and record keeping.
  • Handles disciplinary matters in coordination with HR and Management.
  • Holds regular Supervisor meetings to ensure staff is informed of issues, changes, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Directs and coordinates Passenger Services operations through subordinate supervisors and frontline TAS Team Members.
  • Sets up performance standards, checks progress, sees that organization policies are carried out.
  • Responsible for carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing and hiring of employees; planning, assigning, scheduling, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
An individual must be able to perform each Essential Duty satisfactorily to perform this job successfully. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.


Education and Experience:


  • Minimum Four (4) years Airline or Ground Handling Passenger Service experience with at least 2 of those years in Supervisory role.
  • Minimum age of eighteen (18)
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations:

  • Valid State Driver’s License



Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of the State Labor Code
  • Familiarity with OSHA requirements
  • Data entry skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong verbal/written skills and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service, organizational and time management skills
  • Able to score at least 90% on TAS Manager test
  • May occasionally be asked to run local errands.
  • Security Clearance, (for airport security purposes) pass a 10-year background screening.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee must be able to operate a personal computer/laptop and cell phone for approximately eight (8) hours per day. They will also be required to spend extended time reviewing both physical and electronic documents. The employee will spend most of the time in an indoor environment.
This position works outside in all types of weather conditions and direct contact with both moving and non-moving aircraft. This position may be exposed to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery.
